How to Report a Faction

This article explains and serves as guidance on how to properly report a faction in the OP Factions gamemode. You can submit a faction report HERE and fill out the form with the instructions below.

Understand the Rules

Having a deep understanding of how our competitive rules work will greatly help the reporting process. It will be much easier for both sides, the players and us, to handle the reports swiftly. This will also help avoid common misunderstandings about the rules.

If you are unsure of any rules, you can create a support ticket HERE with your question.

Evidence

Providing clear video evidence of the rule broken is essential when reporting a faction since it makes it easier for us to decide clearly whether the faction broke the rule. Your evidence should:

  • Be recorded in the best quality/FPS you can record it in.
  • Have /f show of the reported faction in the recorded video. This helps us determine the faction who broke the rule in case they change their name, disband, etc.
  • Have /f map shown as it helps out a lot with most rules.
  • Be provided with timestamps if your video is longer than 3 minutes. The timestamps should include the timestamp when the rule was broken, the timestamp of /f show, etc.
  • Preferably be longer than 20-30 seconds. Shorter evidence makes it a lot harder for us to handle the report.
  • Not be edited or modified in any way.
  • Be uploaded to a known website, such as YouTube, Streamable or Medal.

Having evidence with the previous tips is extremely important since a report may get denied for the evidence being insufficient or too vague to determine if the rule was broken or not.

Explain the Situation

Explaining the situation when reporting is crucial to help us understand it properly and avoid any misunderstandings:

  • Provide every detail you can about the rule broken. Every little detail counts.
  • Maintain professionalism and avoid using slang.
  • Try to use proper English and grammar as much as you can.
  • Before reporting, use your discretion to determine if a rule was actually broken.

The reports are handled with precise transparency, so whichever the outcome of your report is, it is often final.

Explanations of Faction Report Questions

Faction name
  • Provide the name of the faction(s) who broke the rule, which is always shown in /f show. Provide the new name of the faction as well if they change the name after the rule is broken.
Involved players
  • Provide the names of the players who broke the rule and are shown clearly in your evidence. This helps us greatly when there is a ban associated with a strike (e.g. breaking rules after a faction passed 10 strikes) or in cases of strike evasion, faction-wide cheating, etc.
Your Minecraft username
  • Provide your full Minecraft username.
Rules broken
  • Provide the name of the rule(s) broken clearly.
Evidence
  • Provide clear video proof of the rule(s) broken as mentioned above.
Timestamps
  • Provide the timestamps of the rule broken, /f show, /f map and any other necessary details.
Additional information
  • Provide us with any detail you can think of. Explain in precise detail what happens in the video and other tiny details you may come across.
