Upgrading a player that has a Seasonal rank voucher activated on his account makes it permanent. For example if I had Seasonal God Rank activated on OPFactions and bought an upgrade to Immortal it would stay even after the server resets.

Hello Piquero2,

Your question is to make sure the server won't get rid of the rank upgrade after the reason ends, since the first "stepping stone" wasn't a permanent rank.

In which case I'm almost certain you would just keep the rank that you upgraded to.
So let's say you use the seasonal samurai and then upgrade to ninja. The ninja rank will be permanent.
